On Saturday, March 16, the women’s water polo team hosted their first Wittenberg Invitational and took the time to honor their one and only senior, Emily Sarver, on their 10 women team.

The invitational brought three teams; the Viking’s of Salem University, The Presidents of College of Washington and Jefferson and the Lions of Penn. State of Behrend.

Going into the invitational, the Tigers were lead by head coach Sivan Pardon. The Tigers had two wins and nine losses under their belts. Taking on Salem University in the morning, Witt took their only loss of the day 16-3. Followed by going head to head with College of Washington and Jefferson where the Tigers emerged victorious 13-8.

Finally, in their nail-biting finish the Tigers took on Penn. State Behrend, winning 15-14, and rounded out their inaugural tournament with two wins and a loss.

Looking forward, the Tigers will be heading to St. Paul, Minnesota where they will participate in the Macalester College Regional Conference Tournament where they will have four games over the weekend period. In April, the team will be playing at Grove City on the sixth. Then the red and white are going to the Collegiate Water Polo Association Championships in New London, Connecticut.
