It’s that time of year again, and Wittfest is finally here. The excitement begins this Saturday, April 28, at 11:00 a.m. This year there are many different bands and acts performing throughout the day to keep the festivities alive and entertaining.
The first performance will be by Wittenberg’s Dance Company at 11:00 a.m. The second performance will be Wittmen Crew at 11:30 a.m. Third, Just Eve will perform at 12:10 p.m. Wittstep will then take the stage at 12:45 p.m. Shortly thereafter, Adrienne Stout and Julia Devine will perform at 1:10 p.m., followed by #GetAtMe at 1:40 p.m.
Bookends will perform at 2:10 p.m., and Newark Patterson Band will then perform at 2:45 p.m. Next, BoyTalk will play at 3:40 p.m., followed by New Old Fashioned at 4:15 p.m.
Amy Kendrick will perform at 5:10 p.m. , and Dr. Quin and the Velociraptor will take the stage at 5:35 p.m.
Jen Miller then takes the stage at 6:25 p.m., followed by The Third Music at 7:10p.m. and Clark Manson Band at 8:00 p.m. Lastly, the featured band Young The Giant will perform at 9:30 p.m.
In addition to the talented and enjoyable performances that will take place, there will be a mechanical bull and a giant slide available for the duration of the afternoon. Caricatures and Dominos will also be present along with CDR, which will all be set up on the Chapel lawn and Alumni Way, for those students who have a meal passes. There will be t-shirts sold along with free giveaways such as color changing cups and sunglasses.
As always, contingent plans have been made for adverse weather conditions. If it happens to rain or the weather otherwise threatens public safety, Wittfest will be held inside the HPER Center.
Wittfest is the culmination of another successful academic year. Students are encouraged to take full advantage of all the entertainment and activities that will be held throughout the day on Saturday. Union Board, which coordinates the event, reminds you to have fun and be safe on Wittfest!
