With classes underway, Union Board has some great up and coming events in the next couple of weeks on campus. Here are just a few:
First off, for Greek Week 2011 happening this week, September 26th through the 30th, Union Board has invited comedian Kira Soltrarovich on September 30th at 9pm in the HPER center to give both Greek organizations and students on campus a good laugh and to kick off the weekend right.
Kira has been featured on Oxygen’s “Girls Behaving Badly” and also has made guest appearances on “Jimmy Kimmel Live”. She also has her own half hour television program called “Here Comes Trouble” and has hosted on E!, Fox network and VH1. She has been guaranteed by sophomore member of Union Board Katie Squier to be ”super funny, like laugh out loud funny.”
During Homecoming, Union Board will have a student vote for the Homecoming King and Queen for 2011. The voting will start this coming week and continue for about two weeks.
Voting for the top 5 for Homecoming King and Queen will be the week of homecoming on October 17th through the 21st. Also, this year during the half time show the King and Queen will be reavealed at the Witt football game without announcing the winners prior to the game.
One more additional thing Union Board is doing is that they will be having a booth for Fun Fest which is on the 22nd of October from 11a.m. to 1p.m. Union Board encourages everyone to come out and see what Union Board is planning and what events students can get involved in.
